The Caldwell County girls’ soccer team recorded its seventh shutout of the season and reached double-digit victories for the first time since 2019 by knocking off hosts Fort Campbell 3-0 on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers improved to 10-4-3 and will wrap up regular-season play on Thursday with a visit from Lyon County.

Caldwell got on the scoreboard in the 21st minute when Aliya Towns ran onto a through ball and rounded the goalkeeper to finish from close range for the only goal of the 1st half.

Cali Traylor almost doubled the Lady Tiger’s lead in the opening minutes of the 2nd half, but her shot from 10 yards out sailed over the bar.

Charlize Cruz went close to pulling the Lady Falcons even in the 45th minute, but her shot from inside the 6-yard box was saved by Caldwell goalkeeper Rachel McClung.

The Lady Tigers made it 2-0 with just over 20 minutes left to play when Harper Ritchey’s first-time shot from the top of the box found the back of the net.

With 11 minutes left, Caldwell’s Mariah Merritt finished off the scoring with a left-footed shot from the right side of the box that tucked inside the far post.

McClung made six saves for the Lady Tigers.  Emma Gray finished with four stops for the Lady Falcons.

Fort Campbell slipped to 7-7-2 and will travel to Logan County on Thursday for the regular-season finale.
