Caldwell County’s seniors remembered a 2-1 penalty-kick shootout loss to Hopkins County Central in the 7th District semifinal last season. After losing to the Lady Storm 2-1 in the regular season this year, the Lady Tigers were looking for a change of fortunes in Monday’s district tournament game in Princeton.
Caldwell got a second-half goal from Tallie Branch, and Rachel McClung made eight saves in the Lady Tiger net to post a shutout as Caldwell advanced 1-0.
YSE spoke with McClung about the win following Monday’s match.
