Lyon County senior Cathryn Brown fired a 1-over 73 on Friday in the KHSAA State Golf Championship at Bowling Green County Club and sits in 2nd place ahead of her final round on Saturday.
Brown had a pair of bogeys on her first three holes on Friday before a birdie on the par-5 5th hole. Bogeys followed on 6 and 7, but Brown birdied number 9 for a 38 on the front.
She started the back nine with a bogey, but that would be her last of the day. Brown added six pars with birdies on 14 and 17 to close out her round with a 1-under 35 on the back.
Marshall County’s Trinity Beth is one stroke ahead in 1st place. Brown and Beth will tee off at 9:50 AM in the same group on Saturday.
