They are off and ‘rolling’ so to say. While it was not an official match between the two programs, bowlers from Christian County and Hopkinsville High School were a part of history Saturday as the bowling programs at both schools kicked off their first seasons with a get-together at Southern Lanes in Hopkinsville.
The coaching staff that heads up both programs divided up bowlers from the two schools into four-person teams for a two-game series to set up seeding for a quick tournament between the teams.
For Christian County, the best performances of the day came from Aiden Lewis and Jacob Walden. Walden had the high game of the day with a 209 in his second game of the series.
Aiden Lewis had the best two-game series of all the bowlers competing. Lewis rolled a total of 362 for his two games, just missing a 200 in the second as he finished with a 198.
Donari Merrit also had a solid first performance for the Colonels, rolling a 144 and a 141 for a two-game series of 285.
On the girls’ side for Christian County, Jasmine Beckwith rolled the high series with a two-game score of 227, including a 123 in her opener.
Christian County is set to travel to Mayfield Saturday for the Early Season Region 1 Bowling Tournament.
