When the Heritage Christian Academy volleyball season began, Mallory Dawson was comfortable in her role as the Lady Warrior assistant coach and junior varsity head coach.
Jimmy Wayne Stewart IV changed her role for the final two weeks of the season.
When Head Coach Grace Stewart gave birth to her first child on October 20, Dawson was tasked with coaching the Lady Warriors at the KCAA Super Region Tournament and KCAA State Tournament. HCA won both with Dawson coaching on the sidelines and Stewart watching via live stream.
Dawson called the experience a special one because of the players.
