Kentucky’s season dipped as low as it possibly could on Saturday when the Wildcats suffered a home loss, 24-21, to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Quarterback Will Levis continued to struggle, missing targets and holding the ball for too long. Kentucky’s play calling was once again abysmal and the defensive unit gave up 24 points to a backup quarterback.
The Wildcats only saw improvement from their special teams unit, as kicker Matt Ruffolo single-handedly kept Kentucky in the game by making three of four attempts with the one that wasn’t converted resulting in a blocked kick.
With two weeks left in the regular season, fans can only hope to finish out 1-1. The No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs will visit Kentucky next weekend in a game that many thought may have been competitive when analyzing the two teams earlier in the season. But over the last two months, the evidence shows that next week’s matchup most likely won’t be very close at all.
