
The Fort Campbell girls’ basketball team was slow out of the gate in Saturday’s opener at North Hardin Classical, failing to score in the second and third quarters of a 32-12 defeat.
A Charlize Cruz three-pointer accounted for all the Lady Falcons’ points early on, but they only trailed by a point after the first quarter. North Hardin extended the lead by seven points in the second to take an 11-3 advantage at halftime.
Sharon Riss scored six points in the third, and Paige Haddle added five in the fourth for North Hardin. The teams tied 9-9 over the final eight minutes, with Cruz and Syhann Southard each scoring four for the Lady Falcons.
Riss finished with 12 to lead all scorers, followed by Haddle with 11.
Fort Campbell will be on the road at Heritage Christian Academy on Monday.
