Big Second Half Carries Lady Maroons Past Christian County

The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons appear to have gotten refocused since their loss last week to Bowling Green. Madisonville made it three wins in a row Tuesday night as they used a big second half to pull away from the Christian County Lady Colonels 76-49 in Madisonville.

The Lady Colonels hung tough early in the contest. Christian County trailed just 17-14 after the opening quarter. The Lady Maroons would extend the lead just a bit in the second quarter, taking a 31-26 lead into the break.

Jaycee Noffsinger and Destiny Whitsell heated up for the Lady Maroons coming out of the locker room. The two would combine to score 18 points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 56-39 heading into the final eight minutes.

Madisonville would then close the door on the contest by limiting the Lady Colonels to just 10 points in the final quarter.

Anaysia Bagwell led Christian County with 15 points. Evanna McGregor added 13, while Sarah Harris finished the game with 10.

Jaycee Noffsinger topped the scoring column for the Lady Maroons with 17 points. Destiny Whitsell added 16. Riley Sword was close behind with 15.

The Lady Colonels fall to 0-3 with the loss. They are back on the road Thursday night at Hopkins Central.

The Lady Maroons improve to 4-1. They will host Union County Thursday night.
