Several school record holders were among those selected to First Team All Western Kentucky Conference and recognized at the annual WKC banquet Wednesday at Marshall County High School.
Union County, who put together the school’s first undefeated regular season since 1972, had six players named to the first team. Mayfield had five players named to the team while Paducah Tilghman had four players named.
Two players – Hopkinsville’s Daisjaun Mercer and Union County’s Kris Hughes – were named All-WKC on both sides of the football.
Trigg County’s Chris Ezell, whose Wildcats put up a 20-year high in most offensive categories for the Wildcats and finished at 7-4, was named the WKC Coach of the Year.
The voting was conducted by coaches of the 19 WKC schools in all six classes.
