The Caldwell County Lady Tigers continued their mastery of 7th District foe Dawson Springs Friday night, routing the Lady Panthers 73-29 at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Eighth-grade guard Ka’Myiah “Tink” Clark paced Caldwell with a career-best 19 points, including five 3-pointers.
Clark buried three straight shots from behind the arc to finish the first quarter — and was fouled and completed a four-point play on one of those. That helped the Lady Tigers turn a 12-7 lead into a 22-9 advantage after 8 minutes.
Caldwell (2-3 overall, 1-0 district) continued to add to its lead in the second quarter, holding the Lady Panthers to just one free throw through the first 4 minutes of the frame.
A putback by A.J. Hollowell put Caldwell up 33-11 — giving the Lady Tigers a 21-3 run between made field goals by the Lady Panthers.
Caldwell took a 45-18 lead to halftime. It was 66-25 through three quarters.
The Lady Tigers led by as much as 45 points in the final frame.
Caldwell has now won 10 straight against Dawson and 25 of the last 26 meetings. The Lady Tigers hold an 87-10 advantage in the all-time series.
Besides the big game from Clark, Caldwell got 15 points from Hollowell and 13 from Presley McKinney. Nyla Sykes had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Panthers (1-4, 0-2) got 15 points and eight rebounds from Abby Ward.
Caldwell’s girls will host Murray Saturday afternoon.
Dawson will visit district foe Madisonville-North Hopkins on Monday.
