After a 27-point performance in a win over Hopkinsville on Saturday, Christian County’s Anaysia Bagwell poured in 24 on Thursday to lead the Lady Colonels to a 66-47 victory over visiting Caldwell County.
The Lady Tigers took their only lead of the night on Medeline Thomas’ three-pointer to open the game before Christian County answered with six straight points.
Bagwell scored on a floater and a layup off a steal to double up Caldwell at 10-5. Evanna McGregor drilled a three-pointer inside the final minute to give the Lady Colonels a four-point edge after one quarter.
Bagwell sank back-to-back threes to push the lead to eight, and her bucket in the lane gave Christian County its first double-digit advantage with a minute left in the half.
An 8-0 run to start the third quarter put the Lady Colonels up 20. Thomas hit a pair of threes for Caldwell, and Presley McKinney scored five, but the Lady Tigers couldn’t cut into the lead.
Caldwell never got closer than 16 points in the fourth quarter. Ne’Vaeh Day scored eight of her ten points to join Bagwell and McGregor in double figures.
McGregor hauled in 12 rebounds to go with her 18 points. Day and DeNiya Bradley each finished with six rebounds.
