
The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team ran into a stingy Edmonson County defense on Friday night in a 41-22 loss to the Lady Cats.
Edmonson entered the game allowing only 32 points per contest and have now surrendered an average of less than 20 in two consecutive victories to improve to 5-1.
The Lady Rebels failed to get on the scoreboard in the first quarter, and Cariann Williams accounted for all the Edmonson offense and a 6-0 lead.
JaMya Kay scored six in the second for Todd Central, but the Lady Rebels couldn’t cut into the lead and trailed 15-9 at the half.
Alexis Taylor leads the Lady Rebels in scoring at over 18 points per game, but she was held to five on Friday. She scored four of Todd Central’s five in the third quarter, and Edmonson doubled up the Lady Rebels 28-14.
Williams finished off her game-high 14-point performance with six more in the fourth, and Riley Roy added four to see out the win for the Lady Cats.
Ciara Collins finished with five points for Todd Central, including four in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Rebels slipped to 7-3 and are off until Thursday, when they travel to Allen County-Scottsville.
