
The Christian County boys’ basketball team earned its second-straight win and got off to a strong start at the Overton Christmas Tournament in Nashville with an 80-51 victory over Knowledge Academies on Wednesday.
Ja’Sean Riley and Derrell Bateman combined for 12 points in the first quarter for the Colonels, with Riley knocking down a pair of three-pointers.
Jordan Miles added five points in the second, and Riley added four more to put the Colonels in front at the halftime break.
Bateman put up seven points in the third on the way to a team-high 20. KJ Vaughn scored five in the fourth, and Breland Morrison added four to put both players in double figures for the game.
Morrison finished with 12, Miles and Vaughn each scored 11, and Riley ended up with ten.
The Colonels improved to 5-6 and will face the winner of Stem Prep and Maplewood on Thursday.
