The after-Christmas break has not been kind to the Christian County Lady Colonels so far. The Lady Colonels fell behind early and could never quite catch back up as they dropped a 59-52 decision to Union City in the Vanous Lloyd Christmas Tournament at Warren Central.

Union City hit the Lady Colonels with a 23-8 first quarter, and Christian County spent the rest of the game trying to catch up. The lead would still be 15 at the half at 31-16 as both teams had their struggles on the offensive end in the second quarter.

Christian County came out of the break and made some headway. The Lady Colonels cut the lead to 41-31 going into the final quarter. The Lady Colonels continued their charge in the fourth quarter, but Union City made enough free throws coming down the stretch to hold on for the seven-point win.

Evanna McGregor was the only Lady Colonel to hit double-figures with 21 points. Anaysia Bagwell and NeVaeh Day had nine points each.

Amari Bonds topped the scoring column for Union City with 30 points.

Christian County drops to 4-7 with the loss. They will take on Warren Central in the 7th place game Thursday afternoon.
