
Crittenden County’s girls took control of Saturday’s game against University Heights Academy early while remaining perfect in 2nd Region competition this season.
The Lady Rockets scored the first 13 points of the contest and led 30-6 after one quarter on the way to a 69-51 triumph in Marion.
UHA outscored Crittenden 45-39 the rest of the way, but the Lady Rockets were never threatened after the early run.
Crittenden is now 10-3 overall but 8-0 against region foes.
Taylor Guess scored 17 of her game-high 22 points in the first half, helping the Lady Rockets take a 46-18 lead to the intermission.
Elliot Evans added 13 points and Anna Boone had 12 for Crittenden.
Alecia Davis led the Lady Blazers with 21 points. LeeLee Love had 13.
Both teams will be in action again on Monday in the 2nd Region All A Classic.
Crittenden, the tourney favorite, hosts Caldwell County in a quarterfinal round game while UHA entertains Fort Campbell.
With wins, the Lady Rockets and Lady Blazers would meet again in the All A semifinals.
