
Trigg County brought home a top-10 finish Saturday at the Steve Johnson Memorial hosted by Paducah Tilghman High School.
Andrew Hendricks, the ninth-ranked wrestler in the state in the 285-pound class, finished as runner-up Saturday. His only loss came to Paducah Tilghman’s fourth-ranked Jimmy Mooney of Paducah Tilghman in the championship by a 10-5 decision.
Caleb Kline finished in third place in the 132-pound class. One of his losses was to Fairdale’s Hunter Luttrell, ranked sixth in the state in the weight class. He defeated Fort Campbell’s Maliq Crosby in the third-place match.
Nate Schneider finished in seventh place in the 190-pound class, taking down Jeffersontown’s Rabiea Shalash by fall.
Charles Haag took ninth place in the 157-pound class.
Sean Borum finished in 10th place in the 215-pound class.
MaKenna Hendricks wrestled against the guys in the 157-pound class and finished in 11th place.
As a team, Trigg County finished in ninth place with 52 points, 9.5 points behind eighth-place Hopkinsville. Paducah Tilghman won the team title with 231 points.
