Jack Reddick scored a career-high 33 points and Lyon County used a strong fourth quarter to leave Hopkinsville’s Tiger Gym with a win Thursday night.

Travis Perry added another 30 points as the Lyons dealt the Tigers a 77-66 setback after trailing through three quarters.

Hopkinsville (8-13) was game for much of the night behind a 23-point effort by Antonio Williams.

A Williams 3-pointer from the left corner just ahead of the third-quarter buzzer gave the Tigers a 50-49 advantage entering the final frame.

But Lyon’s three-quarter court defense began to take a toll on Hopkinsville in the fourth quarter — and led to some easy baskets at the other end for Lyon.

As it’s done all season, Lyon (17-5) scored its points in bunches, especially down the stretch. The Lyons ended up with a 28-16 advantage in the fourth period.

After building a nine-point edge midway through the last quarter, Lyon went to a spread offense, forcing Hopkinsville to foul.

The Tigers still managed to get back within 64-60, but that’s as close as the home team could get in the final minutes.

KeMarion Smith added 14 points for Hopkinsville while Bubba Leavell had 12.

Hoptown played the game without senior starting point guard Daisjaun Mercer, who sat out with an injury.

Lyon has won its last three matchups with Hopkinsville.

The Lyons have won three straight games overall and six of their last seven outings.

Lyon will be in action again on Tuesday when it hosts University Heights Academy at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.

Hopkinsville will entertain Owensboro Saturday afternoon.
