Crittenden County senior Taylor Guess has now scored more points than anyone in the history of girls’ basketball in the 5th District.

Guess had 16 points Saturday in the Lady Rockets’ 74-54 victory at Carlisle County.

That pushed her past former Lyon County standout Saundra Oliver and into first place on the 5th District’s all-time scoring list.

Guess now has 2,362 career points. Oliver totaled 2,351 from 1975-81.

Other 2,000-point scorers in 5th District history include Stephanie Humphries of Trigg County, 2,168 points from 1986-91; Karen Johnson of Trigg, 2,140 points from 1974-80; Tabby Padon of Livingston Central, 2,096 from 2012-18; and Abbey Benton of Caldwell County, 2,001 points from 1988-94 (Caldwell was a member of the 5th District prior to being moved to the 7th District in 2005).
