Hall of Fame Track Coach Ed Davis Passes Away

Hall of Fame coach Ed Davis, who coached 21 individual state track champions and six region cross country champions at Christian County High School, has passed away according to tributes paid to him on social media.

Davis was a 1965 graduate of Clarksville High School and began his coaching career at Fort Campbell High School in 1970.

He came to Christian County in 1973 and served as a coach for girls’ golf, boys’ soccer, wrestling, and baseball.

However, Davis met his greatest successes as a Colonel coach on the cross country course and track.

During his career, Davis coached 170 individual region champions in cross country and four All-State cross country runners.

He also coached 21 individual state champions in track and field at CCHS.

Davis earned Area 1 coach of the year honors at the elementary and middle school level as well as high school coach of the year for cross country and track and field.

Davis was inducted into the Christian County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017.

    Not only on the Cross Country Coarse but in life itself. How he approached people on his team and other teams, The respect he showed everyone. And how he brought the best out of everyone. Coach Davis You will surely be missed. R.I.P. Coach
