Alicia Davis poured in 34 points for the second game in a row, and the University Heights Lady Blazers put the brakes on a four-game losing run with a 59-29 victory at Fort Campbell on Monday.
Neither team lit it up in the early going, with Davis scoring eight of the Lady Blazers’ nine points to lead by three after the first quarter.
UHA used a full-court press to break the game open in the second quarter, holding the Lady Falcons to a single basket. Davis had four steals and ten points, and Kennady Quarles closed the half with a three-pointer for a 26-8 Lady Blazer lead.
Trinity Scott paced the Lady Falcons with 13 rebounds and scored all six of her points in the third quarter, but Davis continued to terrorize Fort Campbell with 12 more points. Lee Lee Love added six, and UHA had a 27-point cushion to start the final frame.
Other than Davis, Love was the only other player for either team in double figures with 16 points.
The Lady Blazers picked up their first 8th-District win of the season to improve to 5-17. They’ll look to avenge a lopsided loss to Lyon County when the Lady Lyons visit on Tuesday.
The Lady Falcons remained winless in district play with their ninth-straight defeat ahead of a matchup with Christian County on Thursday.
