Offensive struggles through the first three-quarters of the game were the undoing for the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors Monday night. Oak Ridge took an early lead and then used its defense to build on that lead on the way to a 49-36 win.

Oak Ridge led 13-6 after the opening quarter as their defense limited HCA to just three made field goals. Neither team was able to generate much offense in the second quarter as Oak Ridge continued to hold a 7-point lead at 21-14 at the break.

Oak Ridge then took full control of the contest in the third quarter. For the third straight quarter, the Oak Ridge defense held the Lady Warriors’ offense to just three made field goals, while their offense was able to generate enough on the other end to extend the lead to 35-22 after three quarters.

HCA was able to find some offensive rhythm in the final quarter but not enough to chew into the Oak Ridge lead as the 13-point margin held up over the final eight minutes of the game.

HCA was led by Bailey Craft with 16 points. Hallie Zieg added 11 points for the Lady Warriors.

Jersy Alford was the top scorer for Oak Ridge with 19 points. Cadence Cardwell and Hannah Burden scored 15 each.
