Omarion Wimberly will be approaching this wrestling postseason with a chip on his shoulder like he has all season.
The Christian County senior advanced to last year’s state tournament but fell one round short of advancing to the medal round.
Wimberly has every intention of making the medal podium, not only at Saturday’s region tournament at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium but advancing to the podium at both rounds of the state tournament.
Wimblery is the fifth-ranked wrestler in the state in the 190-pound class and will carry a 24-9 record into his first match Saturday.
