
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats used a 15-0 third quarter run to hand Dawson Springs a 63-49 loss Saturday afternoon at the Panther Pit.
Five players scored for the Lady Wildcats during the spurt as Trigg County had one of its most-balanced season efforts.
The first half featured five ties and five lead changes and saw Trigg County lead 28-27 at halftime. Dawson Springs hit five 3-pointers and 8-of-14 at the free throw line in the first half. Their fortunes changed in the second half with four 3-pointers and just one trip to the charity stripe.
Trigg County shot 52-percent from the field in the second half and owned the glass for the game. The Lady Wildcats set season highs for rebounds (45) and offensive rebounds (17), leading to 17 second-chance points. Trigg also outscored Dawson Springs 30-10 in the paint.
Kara Hyde scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds. She hit four 3-pointers in the contest to move past Katelyn Slone into fourth place on Trigg County’s all-time list with 126 made threes.

Audrey Alexander added 14 points and six rebounds. Olivia Noffsinger scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Noffsinger moved past Christina Ezell into fourth place on Trigg’s all-time scoring list with 1,384 points.
Abby Ward led Dawson Springs with 18 points with 14 more coming from Gracie Harper.
The win was Trigg County’s ninth straight over Dawson Springs.
Trigg County will host Paducah Tilghman Monday.
