
The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team dropped its second-straight game to close the regular season on Monday, falling 46-32 to visiting South Warren.
The second quarter was the difference, although the Lady Rebels didn’t do themselves any favors with an 11 for 23 performance at the free-throw line.
Todd Central’s Alexis Taylor scored six first-quarter points, but the Lady Rebels trailed by a basket to start the second frame.
TyKeidra Garrett led the South Warren charge in the decisive stretch, scoring seven points to help outscore the Lady Rebels 18-7. McLaine Hudson added six points, and the Lady Spartans led 30-17 at halftime.
The teams combined for only 31 points in the second half. South Warren led by 15 after the third and cruised to the win despite six points in the fourth from Taylor to finish with a game-high 20.
South Warren won its fifth in a row to improve to 16-13. Todd Central closed the regular season at 13-12 and will host next week’s 13th-District tournament.
