
Union County got 37 points from Izaiah Manuel while turning back Caldwell County 79-65 in boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.
The visiting Tigers (5-20) were within 23-21 after one quarter, but Union (12-14) extended the margin to 42-28 at halftime.
The Braves led 56-44 through three quarters on the way to the 14-point triumph.
Union used some strong free throw shooting to outscore Caldwell by 14 points at the charity stripe.
The Braves were 20 of 24 at the line while Caldwell was 6 of 11.
Zavy Bumphus had 27 points to top the Caldwell scoresheet.
It was Union’s second win over the Tigers this season.
Caldwell returns to its home court on Thursday when it hosts Paducah Tilghman.
