
Top-seeded Madisonville-North Hopkins opened up an 11-point lead after one quarter and went on to rout Dawson Springs 105-56 Tuesday night in 7th District tournament action in Mortons Gap.
The Maroons (21-9) led 53-18 at halftime and 83-43 through three quarters.
Brayden Butler had 15 points, Marcus Eaves 14, Lemontae Ratcliff 13 and Landen Smith 10 points for Madisonville.
The Maroons advance to face Hopkins County Central (14-16) in Friday’s 6 p.m. district championship game.
Dawson Springs got 22 points from Jaydon Plunkette and 14 from Rex Blue.
The Panthers end the season at 11-20.
Madisonville extended its winning streak against Dawson to 54 games — dating back to the 1997 district tourney.
The Maroons are looking for their 14th straight district championship.
