Monday marked a big night for both the Fort Campbell High School softball and baseball teams. Both programs ended losing streaks that dated back to Spring 2022 and made some history by securing respective victories on the same calendar day since March 31, 2018.

For the Falcon softball squad, its six-game slide came to a convincing halt with an 11-1 victory in five innings at Clarksville Christian Academy. Junior Kiley McCrary did a little bit of everything for FCHS, as she earned the win in the circle and finished 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Sister Carrie McCrary also went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and scored three times in the run-shortened affair.

Kiley McCrary (1-2) went the distance in the circle and collected nine strikeouts in five innings. She did walk five, but scattered just two hits and allowed the lone run, which came on a CCA RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. Gabby Shipman took the loss for the Centurions after giving up seven hits and nine runs in three innings.

After a scoreless inning to start the game, Fort Campbell took control in the second after the McCrary sisters registered consecutive singles to lead it off. Jordan Wilkerson drove in the first run with an RBI single and a Nadia Velez fielder’s choice grounder put Clarksville Christian in a 2-0 hole.

The offensive spilled over into the third inning, when Sisters McCrary once again used back-to-back hits to light the spark. This time, Kiley’s RBI single was followed by Carrie’s RBI double that gave the Falcons a 5-0 lead. Emma Kolmerton then made it 6-0 on an RBI double to right. The biggest hit of the night belonged to sophomore Ryleigh Watry, who cleared the bases with a three-run triple that put FCHS ahead 9-0.

Fort Campbell (1-3) will host 8th District foe University Heights Academy on March 30 and then a rematch with Clarksville Christian Academy on April 4. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
