After having some early season struggles, the Christian County Colonels appear to be getting things back on track. The defending 2nd Region champions got rock-solid pitching performances from Elijah Underhill and Aiden Lewis as they turned back Hilliard Darby 4-1 in a game played in Bowling Green.
Underhill limited the Ohio school to just one run on only two hits in his six innings of work. Lewis came in and struck out the side in the seventh to lock down the win.
The Colonels used a Hilliard Darby error to score their first run in the bottom of the second. After Darby tied the game in the top of the third, Christian County went ahead for good with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run homer to right from Elijah Underhill.
Christian County added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single from Carter Sholar that drove in Underhill.
The story of the day was Colonel pitching as Underhill struck out nine while walking two over six innings, and Lewis had three strikeouts in one inning of work.
In addition to his big day on the mound, Underhill was 2-4 at the plate with a home run and two RBIs. Carter Sholar ended the game at 2-4 with an RBI.
The win was the third in a row for Christian County.
