Eighth grader Alexis Wood has taken over the pitching duties this season for Caldwell County and continues to show improvement.
On Saturday, she pitched a three-hit shutout as the Lady Tigers defeated Ballard Memorial 2-0 on a day that Caldwell honored its 1998 state runner-up squad.
YSE spoke with Wood after the game.
