
The Caldwell County Lady Tigers continued their mastery of Hopkins County Central on Tuesday.
Caldwell’s girls scored six times in the first inning and went on to win 14-0 in five innings at Lady Tiger Field in Princeton.
It’s Caldwell’s 15th straight win over the Lady Storm. Caldwell had edged ahead in the all-time series 27-26.
Meanwhile, two Lady Tiger pitchers combined to no-hit Hopkins Central.
Alexis Wood (7-7) went the first four innings, striking out three and walking three. Jackie Farmer tossed the final inning, striking out two without a walk.
Offensively, Caldwell rapped out 16 base hits, including home runs by Brylee Butts, Kenzie McConnell and Adley Lewis.
Lewis hit for the cycle, with a double in the first inning, a single in the second, a home run in the third and a triple in the fourth.
Butts and McConnell both went deep as part of Caldwell’s big first inning.
Lewis finished 4-for-4 with four runs batted and scored four times.
Harper Holeman was 3-for-4 and drove in four while A.J. Hollowell and Alicia Stanley were each 2-for-4. Presley McKinney went 2-for-3.
The Lady Tigers are now 9-8 overall and 3-1 in district play. The Lady Storm is 3-16 and 2-1.
Caldwell will honor its senior players on Thursday prior to a home game against Graves County.
