After helping to lead the University Heights Academy Blazers to the 2nd Region All A championship and the quarterfinals of the 2023 All A Classic, senior Lemar Northington II will get the chance to continue playing on the collegiate level. Northington announced Friday morning that he was committing to play at Kentucky Christian University, in Grayson, Kentucky.
During his senior season, Northington averaged more than 16 points and 5 rebounds per contest.
His highlight game of the season may have been in the Blazers’ quadruple-overtime quarterfinal loss to Owensboro Catholic in the All A Classic. Northington helped to rally the Blazers from 17 points down in the final seven minutes of regulation to force overtime. Northington was virtually unstoppable in the second half and overtimes, finishing with 29 points and 10 rebounds.
Kentucky Christian is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference in the NAIA.
