University Heights freshman Bryson Turner picked up his third win of the season on the mound to help the Blazers to a narrow 2-1 victory over visiting Webster County on Friday.

After a nine-run win in the teams’ first meeting, UHA took advantage of a Trojan error to provide the difference in the rematch.

The Blazers took the lead in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI single by Josh Pace and doubled the advantage in the 5th when Nic Luckey reached on an error to push across a second run.

A pair of errors were the only baserunners Turner allowed over the first six innings before Micah Austin broke up the no-hitter with a single to lead off the 7th.  David Wingo delivered a two-out RBI single for the Trojans, but Turner recorded his fifth strikeout to end the game.

Turner struck out five and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win.  Gavin LaRonge, Ben Stone, Pace, Ian Tyler, and Jackson Flynn each had a hit for the Blazers.

Austin took the loss for Webster County, allowing two unearned runs on five hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

UHA improved to 10-5 with its second straight win ahead of a doubleheader with Hopkinsville on Monday.  The Blazers will look to put an end to an eleven-game losing streak to the Tigers.
