McCracken County’s Ross Aldridge limited Lyon County to just three hits as the Mustangs picked up their 8th win in a row with a 5-0 win over the Lyons in the Mustang Invitational Friday night. The Mustangs have not lost since a 4-3 decision to Christian County back on April 18.
Lyon County had a hit in the fourth, one in the sixth, and one in the seventh, as Aldridge kept the Lyon bats quiet throughout his seven innings of work.
The Mustangs got all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first inning when they scored three times. McCracken strung together three singles and a Lyon County error, all after two outs, to score their runs.
McCracken would add two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. The big hit in the inning was an RBI double from Weston Miller.
Lyon County’s hits in the game came from Austin Spears, Eli Baker, and John Bingham. The Mustangs outhit the Lyons 8 to 3 for the evening.
Brady Belt was tagged with the loss for the Lyons. Belt started the game and went four innings, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out five, and walking four.
Seventh grader Hudson Phillips gave the Lyons three solid innings in relief, giving up no runs on three hits, striking out one, and walking one.
