After putting the brakes on an eight-game winless run last time out, the Lyon County softball team made it two wins in a row with a come-from-behind 6-4 win over hosts Hickman County on Friday.

The Lady Lyons’ Lilly Perry helped herself with an RBI single in the 1st, but Hickman evened the score when Abbi Clark singled to push a run across in the bottom of the frame.

The tie held until the top of the 4th when Brenna Breitrick doubled in a run to restore the Lady Lyons’ one-run lead.  However, the Lady Falcons answered with three runs in their half of the inning on a two-out RBI double by Blair Byasee and Anna Howell’s run-scoring single.

Lyon County opened the decisive sixth inning with a single by Perry and a double for Jenna Coursey to put runners at the corners with no outs.  Destiny Cayce bunted in a run, and the Lady Lyons tied the game when Coursey came home on a passed ball.  Another passed ball allowed the go-ahead run, and Breitrick scored on Emma Brasher’s sacrifice bunt to round out the scoring.

Perry finished with two hits and earned the win in the circle.  She allowed four runs, one earned, on eight hits with four walks and three strikeouts.  Lauren Davis also had two hits for the Lady Lyons.

Byasee suffered the loss for Hickman, going the distance while allowing six runs, three earned, on seven hits with a strikeout.  She was two for four at the plate with two RBI, and Howell and Clark had two hits each.

Lyon County will wrap up the regular season on Friday with a trip to Elkton to face Todd County Central.  The Lady Lyons fell 3-1 in the teams’ first meeting this season.
