
Caldwell County’s girls took second in their own Final Flight Invitational at Tiger Stadium in Princeton.
Calloway County rolled up 200 team points to claim the championship on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers were next with 100 points to easily outdistance third-place Crittenden County, which had 52. Union County was fourth with 48 points, just ahead of Paducah St. Mary (47) and Hopkins County Central (43).
Shaely Thibodeaux ran to a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash for Caldwell, turning in a time of 13.44 seconds. Mariah Merritt was seventh in that event in 13.93.
Ava Pickett finished second in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches. Annabelle Rushing was fourth at 4 feet even.
Avery Wells was second in the long jump at 15 feet, 5 inches — just two inches behind the winner, Emily Martin of Calloway County. T.J. Goodwin was sixth at 13 feet, 7 inches.
Haley Dalton placed third in the javelin at 81 feet, 5 inches. Chevy McGowan was fifth at 71 feet, 11 inches while Emma Ward was eighth at 60 feet, 1 inch.
Ward was third in the discus at 88 feet even. Keirli Herran was fifth at 85 feet, 9 inches.
Kylee White took fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:43.12. Rushing was eighth in the 800 in 3:08.95.
Jordan Ortt finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 58.57 seconds.
Ortt was fifth in the triple jump at 27 feet, 3 inches. Goodwin took seventh in that event at 26 feet, 11 inches.
Dalton placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:10.78.
Benashka Thomas finished eighth in the shot put at 26 feet, 10.5 inches.
Caldwell took first in the 4×100 relay in 53.34 seconds, edging Calloway County by .04 seconds.
The Lady Tiger 4×200 relay team was second in 1:53.09.
Caldwell was third in the 4×400 relay in 4:47.36.
The Lady Tigers were also third in the 4×800 relay in 11:49.61.
Caldwell’s girls also placed first in the throwers’ relay in 1:08.33.
Next up for the Caldwell track program is the Class 2A 1st Region meet on Monday, May 22, at Calloway County.
