A first place finish for senior Lemar Northington in the high jump led the way for the University Heights Academy Blazers Saturday at the Apollo Invitational. The Blazers finished the meet in 11th place with 21 points.
McCracken County took first place in the boys’ meet, which feature some of the top athletes in Western Kentucky with 104 points. Warren East was second with 93 points.
Northington tied for first place in the boys’ high jump with an effort of 6-00.00, which was a new personal record. Isiah Summers, of Warren East, also had a top effort of 6-00.00.
Other Top 10 finishes for the Blazers on the day were:

Clayton Lester – 7th – 200 meters
Logan Miller – 10th – 110m hurdles
Boys 4×200 meter relay team – 7th place (Brown/Lester/McCoy/Wallace)
