Make it a three-peat for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers tennis team. The Lady Tigers picked up their third straight regional championship Tuesday afternoon in Henderson. Even with the championship match still to be played Wednesday, the Lady Tigers had enough points to claim the title without a player in the singles final.

Hopkinsville won the regional title on the strength of their doubles play. The Lady Tigers did not win a singles match at this year’s event.

However, Hopkinsville had two doubles teams reach the semifinals with a total of six matches and 78 games won over the course of the tournament

The regional doubles champion of Allie Fort and Ella Lester won four matches and 48 games, while the paring of Morgan Woosley and Ella Brown picked up two match wins and 30 games won.

The Lady Tigers have now won the regional title in 2021, 2022, and 2023. There was no tournament in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
