
Anna Boone blanked Union County over the final 6.2 innings as Crittenden County picked up a 4-1 victory Saturday in the 2nd Region tournament quarterfinals at Christian County.
Meanwhile, the Lady Rockets (14-15) made the most of four base hits in the contest to advance to Monday’s semifinals against Caldwell County (17-12). The Lady Tigers battled past Christian County 11-10 in eight innings on Saturday. Caldwell and Crittenden will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Hopkins County Central.
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, Crittenden came back with two runs in the bottom of the first and led the rest of the way.
Elle McDaniel singled home Crittenden’s first run to tie it. Jaycee Champion drove in another run with a groundout to second to put the Lady Rockets up 2-1.

A pair of two-out errors helped Crittenden add another run in the second to make it 3-1.
The Lady Rockets added another run in the fourth on a grounder by Boone.
Boone (7-10) struck out five and walked three while giving up four base hits.
Jaylen Tackett led Union (15-19), going 2-for-3 with a double.
