The Caldwell County girls’ track and field team put together one of its best finishes at the region meet in recent years Monday.

The Lady Tigers had three automatic qualifiers for next week’s Class 2A State Meet in Lexington. Caldwell finished in third place as a team with 70 points, trailing only Calloway County (212) and Paducah Tilghman (117).

The top two finishers at the region automatically advance to the state meet, while the next ten best times/distances statewide also advance.
