After a year playing for Rutgers in the Big 10, a former Lyon County standout is looking to continue her collegiate softball career in a new location. Rutgers freshman Calista Collins announced Sunday in a social media post that she would be entering the transfer portal and looking to leave the New Jersey school.
During her freshman season, Collins started 34 games for the Scarlet Knights. She ended the year batting .246 with one home run and ten RBIs. Collins’ home run came in a road game at Illinois.
She also finished the year with a fielding percentage of .975.
