Players for the Hoptown Hoppers arrived in Hopkinsville Saturday to pick up their uniforms and start the process of getting ready for the 2023 Ohio Valley League season, which starts this week. Part of that process was getting the chance to meet the coaching staff in person, including Hoppers manager E.J. Devarie.
Devarie had the chance to address the team about the upcoming season and to conduct the first practice of the season.
Devarie will have to miss the opening of the Hoppers season as his ‘full-time’ coaching gig at the University of Indianapolis will occupy him for a bit longer as the Greyhounds are set to play Saturday in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship tournament in Cary, North Carolina.
Devarie spoke with YourSportsEdge.Com about getting the Hoppers ready for the new season.
