Time is running out for Kentucky freshman Chris Livingston to take his name out of the NBA Draft — and it sure seems he’s going to keep his name in the draft despite not being listed yet as a likely draft pick.
Matt Babcock, senior NBA Draft Analyst (babcockhoops.com) for various sites, did not have Livingston listed in his recent mock draft.
No one questions the 6-5 Livingston’s athletic ability, pro-ready body or team-first attitude. He’s at his best in a fast-paced game in the open court, something that could work better for him in the NBA than Kentucky’s style did. He’s also good at finishing through contact.
While the consensus has been Livingston will not be drafted, Babcock says that might not be the case.
“When I did the second round of our most recent mock draft, some decisions were admittedly arbitrary, Chris Livingston included,” Babcock said.
“However, since then, he has had a terrific pro day, and the word around the league is that a team has given Livingston and his agent Rich Paul a guarantee, leading him to likely remain in the draft.”
