
It looks more like a football score than a baseball final. The Bowling Green Pistons used three big innings to roll past the Hoptown Hoppers 26-4 in a seven inning game Tuesday night at Christian County High School.
Bowling Green scored 12 runs in the third, 8 more in the sixth, five in the seventh, plus a single run in the first as they picked up their second win of the season over the Hoppers.
The Pistons scored the 26 runs on just 14 hits, taking advantage of 17 walks and and six hit batters from Hoppers’ pitching.
Cameron Bird had a monster night for the Pistons. Bird was 3-4 with a home run, a double, seven RBIs, and four runs scored.
The Hoppers scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning using a walk and five straight singles to plate the runs.
Stephen Bell and Sam Perkins had two hits each for Hoptown.
Dylan Eaton got the start for Hoptown and was charged with the loss. A total of seven Hopper pitchers saw action on the mound over the course of the seven innings of the game.
