The Hoptown Hoppers bounced back from two-straight defeats and avenged a loss to the Fulton Railroaders last time out with a 7-0 victory on Friday.

Five pitchers combined on the shutout to help the Hoppers improve to 2-5 and even the season series with the Railroaders.

Hoptown starter Brady Ginaven worked around a lead-off walk, an error, and a single in the first, and allowed only three more baserunners over the next four frames before exiting with a 5-0 lead after the 5th.

The Hoppers pushed a pair of runs across in the bottom of the 1st, including an RBI double by Luis Vergara.  They doubled the advantage on back-to-back RBI singles by Stephen Bell and John Keibler in the 4th, and added a run in the 5th for a 5-0 lead.

Keibler drove in his second run of the night with a 6th-inning single, and the Hoppers closed the scoring with another run in the bottom of the 7th.

Ginaven earned the win, allowing only two hits with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings of work.  Former Hopkinsville Tigers Jacob Dilday and Tim Cansler combined for two and two-thirds scoreless frames, with Dilday perfect through two innings with three strikeouts.

Keibler, Vergara, and Carter Hood each finished with two hits to pace the Hoppers at the plate.

Hoptown outhit the Railroaders 8-3, with Brady Mallow taking the loss for Fulton.  He lasted three and two-thirds, giving up four earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

On Saturday, the Hoppers will be back in action at Colonel Field at Christian County High School when the Louisville Jockeys visit.
