7-Run Fourth Helps Paducah Rout Hoppers 15-2

A seven-run fourth inning helped the Paducah Chiefs roll past the Hoptown Hoppers 15-2 Thursday night in Ohio Valley League action.

The Chiefs put up four runs in the first inning and never trailed in the seven-inning contest at Brooks Stadium in Paducah.

Former Lyon County standout Gunnar Bingham was 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored for Paducah, which outhit the Hoppers 11-6.

Brayman Fraasman led the home team with a six-RBI performance, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple. Ben Brombaugh was 3-for-3 and knocked in two.

Dom Oliverio was the only Hoptown player with more than one base hit, going 2-for-3 and scoring a run.

Jacob Overbeck (4-1) went six strong innings on the mound to earn the win for the Chiefs. He allowed one earned run on six base hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

Five Hoptown hurlers combined to allow 13 earned runs and nine walks.

The Hoppers are now 13-18 and sit 10.5 games behind the first-place Full Count Rhythm (25-9) in the OVL South division standings.

Hoptown will play at home on Friday against the Bowling Green Pistons (8-23).
