Ginaven Strikes Out 14 as Hoppers Blank BG (w/PHOTOS)

The Hoppers got their best pitching performance of the season Friday night. Starting pitcher Brady Ginaven pitched seven innings of two-hit ball and struck out 14 as Hoptown rolled to an 8-0 win over the Bowling Green Pistons at Christian County High School.

Ginaven gave up a double to lead off the game and a double to lead off the top of the fifth, otherwise he completely dominated the pistons batting order over the course of seven innings. Sixty-four percent of Ginaven’s pitches were strikes as he allowed no walks during the time he was on the mound.

Chase Gruno finished out the game, going two innings, allowing no runs on no hits, striking out three and walking two.

The Hopper offense scored a run in the first, three in the fourth, two in the sixth, and two more in the bottom of the eighth.

Rob Estrada got things rolling with an RBI single in the first. Mac Biggs extended the lead with a three-run shot to left in the bottom of the fourth.

Chase Cummings stole home in the bottom of the sixth, followed by an RBI single from Estrada. Cummings would score again in the eight on a sac fly. The scoring would be capped off on an RBI triple from Estrada.

Rob Estrada finished the night going 4-5 with 3 RBIs. Artem Logvinov was 2-4 with a run scored.

Seven different Hoppers got into the hit column as Hoptown outhit the Pistons 11-2 on the night.
