It was a tough weekend for the Caldwell County Lady Tigers in Lexington against some of the best volleyball teams in the state. Caldwell County was among the teams taking part in the 2023 Bluegrass State Games.
Caldwell County got started Friday with the first of two days of pool play. The Lady Tigers dropped a straight-set decision to Cooper 23-21 and 21-3. Caldwell County closed out the opening day falling to Madison Central 21-12 and 21-11.
The Lady Tigers returned to the court Saturday for the second day of pool play. Caldwell County was upended by Male 21-13, 21-13. Bullitt Central then took a straight-set win over the Lady Tigers 21-8 and 21-10. The Lady Tigers then finished the day with a 21-9 and 21-18 loss to LaRue County.
The results of the two days of pool play placed Caldwell County in the Varsity Flight 8 bracket, where they faced a first-round matchup against North Bullitt. The Lady Tigers saw their stay at the games ended with a loss in that opening round match.
Caldwell County finished the weekend at the Bluegrass State Games with a record of 0-6.
