
A big day on their home course saw the Hopkinsville Tigers golf team finish in sixth place at Monday’s Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Boys’ Invitational.
Andrew Riggs put together a consistent day with a scorecard that included pars on eight of his final 10 holes. His round of 77 was good for sixth place.
Joey Falco overcame a slow start with bogeys on three of his first four holes. The senior righted the ship to birdie No. 9 and chipped in for birdie on No. 17. His 8-over par 79 saw him finish in a tie for 12th place.
Thomas Grise finished in a tie for 35th place with an 83. He birdied the par-5 14th hole.
Ryan Martin carded a 93, and Matt Baker added a 96. Both had a birdie in their rounds.
Landon Hunt of McCracken County and St. Mary’s Aidan Hahn each shot a 2-under 69. Hunt won the title on the second playoff hole.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished in sixth place out of 19 teams with a score of 332. McCracken County totaled 308 points to score a 16-shot win over Ohio County.
