After a shutout loss to Murray in their season opener, the Christian County Colonels flipped the script on Muhlenberg County Tuesday and scored a 3-0 shutout win of their own at the Stadium of Champions.
It was the first win for Coach Avery Seeger, who succeeded his father as head coach of the Colonels in the offseason.
Alex Hale got the Colonels on the board just three minutes into the contest as both teams were able to put together a solid first half of defense.
Christian Lopez scored a pair of goals in the second half with Noah Davis assisting on one of those.
Mason Malone had nine saves in goal as the Colonel defense, which shone in a pair of preseason wins, slammed the door for their fourth clean sheet over the past two seasons.
Last year, the Colonels beat the Mustangs in their first contest before playing to a draw later in the season.
Christian County (1-1) will host Logan County Thursday, while Muhlenberg County (0-3-1) travels to Grayson County Friday.
