In backyard Wiffle Ball, you can play a batted ball off the house, out of trees, and off the truck in the driveway if you choose.
In volleyball, it’s sort of the same. You can play the ball off the roof, a rafter, a basketball goal, or a hanging flag so long as it’s on your own side of the floor.
